Ahhhh... Firefox and music.
A small flaw I've found with the Google Chrome browser is that it's largely unsupported by a lot of sites, and in particular, does not seem to handle the text editing functions of Vox very well.
So I'm writing from FireFox and enjoying full text editing capability, and switching over to Chrome to respond on Meebo, a great chat program known to far too few, as well as browse the six other tabs I've got open on Chrome, and the four I've got going on FireFox as well. Fun, fun.
A small excerpt from a recent Meebo Chat:
[22:56] Her: Me negative? Never.
[22:56] Me: Okay, fine. Sarcastic.
[22:56] Her: Sarcastic? Always. =]
[22:57] Me: Or perhaps hyperbolically pessimistic.
[22:57] Her: ....
[22:58] Me:
The day is coming up to where I mark the one year anniversary of when I first began music production. I still remember opening Fruity Loops and fumbling around, the frustration of working exclusively in a sequencer with limited sound fonts. Ahh.
My current beat-work can be found at: myspace.com/GrillTruthProductions.
On another note, as far as music goes, I've been rapping for about two years (it'll be three soon enough). Currently setting up a new myspace to showcase my music, but you can check out my old one at: myspace.com/AndrewRemixed.
Something that's upset me recently is the fact that I can't seem to get my mike to record cleanly (i.e. without buzz or static) anymore. In the past, I've recorded the great majority of my work on a cheap, $5 computer mike, with a ghetto homemade pop filter, and managed to squeeze some good recording quality out of it (again, see my old myspace if ya don't-believe me).
Seven different people have asked me what I wanted for my birthday, and at this point, I'd like nothing more than for my event to get off the ground (hopefully tomorrow I'll be able to secure a venue). Oh yeah, I just remembered, thanks Lacy, for calling me this morning at 7:44AM to let me know you drove from Modesto to San Francisco to get some clam chowder at the pier-- at 3AM. Anyhow, when it comes down to it, some things I'd like for my birthday are:
A condenser microphone. For the reasons listed above, except I'm not involved with the music industry heavily enough to justify buying one for myself.
Ten bucks. That's how much a presale for my event's gonna run ya. You don't gotta show up, just buy a damn ticket. It's for a good cause.
An electric razor. Because I just broke mine two days ago.
A Good Radar Detector. Because getting stopped by the police for speeding is never fun.
And finally... A hug. When was the last time you gave someone a great hug? I mean, really, a firm, "I love ya" kinda hug? I'll be accepting hugs all day on my birthday, at my fundraiser event. It'll cost you ten bucks to get in.
