...why?
That's something I've always wondered.
What's the point of everybody celebrating the day they were born?
I mean, what's so freaking special about it?
My birthday is next month, January 22, 2009. I'm turning 20 and instead of doing what I always do-- letting it go by insignificantly, I'm going to throw a big bash at a club, charge for entry (anyone 18+ can come), and take all the money and donate it to breast cancer research at the American Cancer Society.
And THEN, maybe, just maybe, the day I was born will have been a day worth celebrating.
*Sigh* Right now, I'm simultaneously writing this and tearing my hair out, stressing out about logistics of the event. I really desperately need to get my stuff together or this project will never get off the ground. Here's a quick run down of everything I've got so far:
- I've got a gogo dancer AND host lined up for the event. Thank god she's good at what she does. Bless her heart. (You're a lifesaver, Viv!)
- Confirmed an event photographer. The same guy that did most of my modeling portfolio, Ryuuzaki. (Thanks man!)
- Still working on getting underground hiphop duo Magnetic North flown out to be guest performers. Thanks to Thi for putting me in touch with them. (Love ya, Thi!)
- Confirmed DJs for the event, thanks to my cousin Hung who knows everyone I don't.
- VENUE is still hanging in the balance. Need to hop on that a lot harder, and lock down my peoples. (Hellllpppp, Yen!!)
- Sponsorship is still in the shaky stages. Still talking to potentials. Hope they pull through! (Thanks the nice lady at the company that was oh-so-patient with me.
I would be extremely GRATEFUL for anyone that can help me with any of the above things I need help with. More to come soon. It's 6:40AM and I've been up since, oh. 6-somethingAM yesterday.
Again, more to come soon. HELPPPPPP!!! ARGH.
