I've finally unwound as much as I possibly could from yesterday's awesome adventures enough to blog it all up, so here I am.
Last night was the 2009 International Secret Agent concert, a showcasing of Asian American talent that featured artists from all over the place, including Jin the MC, Passion, Paul Dateh, Jessi Malay, Far East Movement, and more. The event was produced by Wong Fu Productions. If you haven't heard of them, they have a habit of putting out good stuff quite often.
It was an awesome night, thanks to the AZN Style Vid Network, a new online media outlet for Asian American musical talent. Jimmy, the founder of ASVN, gave me a call, asked me to co-host the show's coverage of the event, and as Jin says, The Rest is History.
One of my definite highlights was definitely getting to meet Jin. Upon greeting him, one of the first things I said before the interview was "we hit the MOTHERLODE!" And Jin just cracked up and later on in the interview, he goes "This is just a quick announcement, an EXCLUSIVE for you guys. Andy, you inspired the title of my next album. I've never been called the motherlode, and that's what I'ma call the album, 'The Motherlode.' You heard it here first!!" We'll wait for that to drop. As the first Asian American rapper to get signed to a major label, Jin's definitely gonna do us proud.
Later on, of course, I gave Jin one of my mix-CDs, and hopefully he likes what he hears. Here's a pic we took, as he put it, for "proof that I got yo CD!"
I'm exhausted. It's actually 9:03AM, and with less than 3 hours of sleep under my belt, I need to run out for another shoot in a few. Stay beautiful y'all, and stay tuned for the in-depth scoop on my latest tracks at myspace.com/GiveMeAndy.

The photoshoot on Thursday...
...went great.
Dennis was a great guy to shoot with, and the weather that day was a cozy 65-70 degrees out.
Progress on the "Give Me Andy" identity branding is coming along smoothly. However, at the moment, I'm more concerned with HypnotiTech branding. One of the biggest problems I run into with selling clients on HypnotiTech is that people seem to think that hypnosis, the driving component of HTech, is trickery, dangerous, or fake.
There are many, many misconceptions, so I've set up a blog at RealHypnosisFacts.wordpress.com that will eventually explain every last detail on the hypnotic process and the mind, as well as debunk all the myths surrounding it as a result of misinformation and Hollywood glitz.
Also, a Q&A section will serve to answer any additional inquiries you may have regarding anything about the mind, whether it be NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming), mind reading, cold reading, suggestion, subliminal messaging, and more. If I don't know about it, chances are I know someone that does.
This post took far too long to write. It's currently 2AM. Off to more pressing tasks.
Love,
Andy
Sullivenom shared the above image with me a few days ago, much to my amusement and dismay. I think there's something about viewing that image that cursed my eyes, because since then I've had all kinds of "dumb" moments-- talking to college grads that don't know what the word "condescending" means, to a cute college student that didn't know what a piranha was until I told her.
Now I don't mind stupidity-- I merely pity those that lack knowledge. But I despise those that choose to remain willfully ignorant.
I don't profess to be an endless source of information. But with Wikipedia and Google at the tips of your fingers, if you don't know or understand something, make the effort at least to look it up than ask me. People I chat with that respond to every other sentence with "wat iz dat" don't last long with me.
This sealed the deal for me today. I'm really fed up with it all:
Onward, to things of importance.
Things have been picking up with the "Give Me Andy" remarketing campaign. Things are switching over smoothly. This week alone, I've set up more than 17 different social networks, including Twitter, Plurk, BrightKite, YouAre, Utterli, Rejaw, imeem, and more, all under username "GiveMeAndy". Find me, add me. <3
My goal within the next few weeks is to dominate the Google search results for "Give Me Andy," which is pretty much up for grabs at the moment. As for the search results for "GiveMeAndy," I couldn't be happier at the moment.
Marketing for my hypnosis service, HypnotiTech, will begin next week. www.HypnotiTech.com itself was launched about a week ago, and one of the interesting things I found was that it was hard to direct people to my site because, well, the name HypnotiTech takes some getting used to.
So, to remedy that, I've also purchased the domain at www.HypnoticVictory.com, which will forward you to the main HTech site.
There seems to be a lot of mythology and negative connotation surrounding hypnosis, NLP, speed inductions, and the like. My next Vox post will most likely address these and debunk them. However, feel free to get on the HTech site and read through the FAQ section. It's all good stuff, and there's something for everyone in HypnotiTech.
Finally, I'm gonna leave off this post with a song from my cousin. It's a cover of the song "Try Again," and he sounds AWESOME on it. Check it out, he's madddd talented:

Keep them chins up.

That particular night, I rocked my blue L.E.D. marquee belt that read "Club for a Cure." It was hot:
...to EVERYONE that came out to Club for a Cure last night, where much fun was had and serious partying was done.
More details coming soon.

I really had a lot of fun on the set. Sure, there's crazy long waiting involved, but at least there's food. Lots of it. And you know what? More time for schmoozing.
Made some new friends-- Mani, Isabel, Joti, Ali, and Candice. Saw some familiar faces, Chris, Enan, Lauren, and Mike. Had a blast.
Onto other things. Let me inform you all about an experience I had a few nights ago involving these:
Anyhow. I'm excited for C4aC, I hope there's a good turnout. I've put so much into this, so much faith, blood, sweat, and effort, that hopefully the good karma I've put out into the universe will return to me.
Otherwise, happy birthday to me.
I'm gonna leave you guys with a picture I took on the bus a long time ago. It inspires me, and maybe it'll inspire you too. I took it on one of my lowest days, and I hope that whereever you are, that you only get the best.
...on the New York transit line. If my train goes off the track, pick it up, pick it up, pick it up!"
Amongst my guests that night were DJ Ill Will, DJ Thunder Monkey, and DJ Ludon, who are also going to be DJing at my event-- Club for a Cure.
For those of you that don't know yet, at this point, all cover charges have been ELIMINATED. All I ask is that you show up on thursday, and make a donation at the door.
Had a great night, stayed out till 3AM just living it up (lost my voice too).
Speaking of which... over the last 3 days, my health has rapidly declined.
Wanna know the secret to losing five pounds in just two weeks? Plan a benefit event.
Aside from losing weight, my appetite really hasn't been that good, nor has my sleeping schedule (I used to average about 6 hours, now it's been reduced to about 4-5 if I'm lucky). With only a little more than half a week left to get everything in place, I've been scrambling about trying to get everything squared away.
At this point, the only things I haven't given to pull off C4aC are sexual favors and blood sacrifices.
Money, time, energy, I'm really drained, and I'll be glad when this is over. Had a quick bite with Vivian (one of my gogo girls, check out the exclusive interview with her HERE.) and enjoyed a brief chat with her.
Tomorrow's another day, gotta hustle. I'm probably gonna hit up City College and SF State to promote for a bit at each venue.
BUT, before you go, here's a badass new collaboration I did with Magnetic North's very own Derek Kan, aka Direct. I'm on the second verse, at a (slightly slower than my usual style) speed of 6.54 syllables per second. Enjoy:
Until next time,
Andy
I had a bit of difficulty with the flyers. PsPrint kept delaying my order or something, and they stopped updating the job log online so I had no idea what happened to my 3000 flyer order after January 13 at 2AM. Yeah, not a good situation to be in. The guy on the phone told me that printing would be done at 5:55. So I went got there to get em around 6:05, only to discover that the pickup department closes at 6. What?! Thank goodness an employee leaving was kind enough to go out of his way to look for my order and bring it out from the back. Whereever you are, I hope you got laid that night.
I met up with Miyouko, one of my gogo dancers, and we had a snack and snapped some promo shots of the bracelets (check em out below!)
Then I delivered some flyers to DJ Thundermonkey, then some to Sullivenom, and finished off with a delivery to Martin, whose mom's breast cancer just relapsed (this event is for you, man). Unfortunately, Regina (my little sister) was kept waiting on her birthday (which was yesterday) and I still feel bad about making her wait so long. I'll figure out a way to make it up to her. I will.
These bracelets are pretty kickass. They came just as I imagined them, and whoever's lucky enough to snag one the night of Club for a Cure (C4aC) will be really happy they did. I've got a limited run, after all, and I expect these to go fast.
Later tonight, I'll be going with DJ Thundermonkey and DJ Ludon to a house party to promote C4aC.
Here are a few more pictures of the bracelets. Enjoy em, and get in touch with me to find out more.
These last few weeks have been insanely packed and insanely fun.
I'm proud to say that the event I first wrote about last month is now up and running, and I'm extremely pleased with the progress I've made. I can honestly say that ever since I started Club for a Cure, I've met more quality people in two weeks than I've met in the last two months. It's been an amazing journey and I have to thank a few people for the courage, inspiration, wisdom, and faith they've instilled in me to make this all possible:
Bradtastic, Sullivenom, Yen, Linh, Hung, Miyouko, Kathlene, Vivian, Cherylee, Julio, Dad (for once!), and finally, Mike of the Mist Ultra Lounge in SF, where the event will take place.
Please come out and support C4aC! All proceeds go to benefit San Francisco's Breast Cancer Research Programs-- check out the Facebook event page and ClubforaCure.blogspot.com for more information.
Aside from bringing in $150 at the date-auction for the Asian American Donor Program, I got a chance to perform some impromptu kick-ass hypnosis afterward. Check it:
...yeah.
Don't worry though, everyone had a good time. I really liked Denise, though, she was wonderfully pleasant during her "waking-trance" moments:
And FINALLY, to bring this post-update to its close, I went to a house party last night in Daly City with Sullivenom. (you can see the group pic at the beginning of this post!)
The entire set of pix took last night are here:
And with that, I'll leave you all with a nice picture of the flyers for the event. Get in touch if you wanna go!
Love,
