So the first Club for a Cure event went... smashingly. We had a good turnout...
And of course, my dancers were gorgeous before...

...during...
...and after. Although they left then, so I can't really show you pix of that. But trust me, they looked good.
That particular night, I rocked my blue L.E.D. marquee belt that read "Club for a Cure." It was hot:

And not only did the night include a rap battle:
...but there was also a shake-off for the ladies...
That ended with EVERYONE winning:
And of course, yours truly rocked the mike.

Disappointed you missed out? You should be. But that's okay. I'm planning to throw another one in a few months, but planning is already under way. You can show up to that one and party extra hard to make up for the one you missed this time. See ya there.

This is me now.
This was me 90 minutes ago.
Just got home a while ago, from the set of the upcoming Adam Sandler film "Funny People,"
in which I was playing a minor role (read: extra). I got to run
through an airport with my fake girlfriend, Candice, past a
confused Seth Rogen. Who knows, maybe when the movie comes out in July
of '09, I'll be seen in it. Either way, I met some great folks and
hopefully they'll be showing up later tonight at C4aC.
I really had a lot of fun on the set. Sure, there's crazy long waiting involved, but at least there's food. Lots of it. And you know what? More time for schmoozing.
Made some new friends-- Mani, Isabel, Joti, Ali, and Candice. Saw some familiar faces, Chris, Enan, Lauren, and Mike. Had a blast.
Onto other things. Let me inform you all about an experience I had a few nights ago involving these:

The only "sporty" thing these beans deliver is the cherry-red color of a Ferrari.
They didn't do jack for me. And they taste like they were expired. And yes, I checked the package, they were fresh.
Anyhow. I'm excited for C4aC, I hope there's a good turnout. I've put so much into this, so much faith, blood, sweat, and effort, that hopefully the good karma I've put out into the universe will return to me.
Otherwise, happy birthday to me.
I'm gonna leave you guys with a picture I took on the bus a long time ago. It inspires me, and maybe it'll inspire you too. I took it on one of my lowest days, and I hope that whereever you are, that you only get the best.

Saw Black Sheep perform LIVE last night at the Mist Ultra Lounge. Attendance of well over 300 people, an awesome turnout. Thank you to Mike, the owner of Mist, for accomodating myself and my guests at the last minute.
Amongst my guests that night were DJ Ill Will, DJ Thunder Monkey, and DJ Ludon, who are also going to be DJing at my event-- Club for a Cure.
For those of you that don't know yet, at this point, all cover charges have been ELIMINATED. All I ask is that you show up on thursday, and make a donation at the door.
Had a great night, stayed out till 3AM just living it up (lost my voice too).
Speaking of which... over the last 3 days, my health has rapidly declined.
Wanna know the secret to losing five pounds in just two weeks? Plan a benefit event.
Aside from losing weight, my appetite really hasn't been that good, nor has my sleeping schedule (I used to average about 6 hours, now it's been reduced to about 4-5 if I'm lucky). With only a little more than half a week left to get everything in place, I've been scrambling about trying to get everything squared away.
At this point, the only things I haven't given to pull off C4aC are sexual favors and blood sacrifices.
Money, time, energy, I'm really drained, and I'll be glad when this is over. Had a quick bite with Vivian (one of my gogo girls, check out the exclusive interview with her HERE.) and enjoyed a brief chat with her.
Tomorrow's another day, gotta hustle. I'm probably gonna hit up City College and SF State to promote for a bit at each venue.
BUT, before you go, here's a badass new collaboration I did with Magnetic North's very own Derek Kan, aka Direct. I'm on the second verse, at a (slightly slower than my usual style) speed of 6.54 syllables per second. Enjoy:

Bracelets and Flyers came in yesterday.

the 22nd (the day of the event!) to get these in, and they pulled
through and had these shipped to me on order from HONG KONG in half the
time!
I had a bit of difficulty with the flyers. PsPrint kept delaying my order or something, and they stopped updating the job log online so I had no idea what happened to my 3000 flyer order after January 13 at 2AM. Yeah, not a good situation to be in. The guy on the phone told me that printing would be done at 5:55. So I went got there to get em around 6:05, only to discover that the pickup department closes at 6. What?! Thank goodness an employee leaving was kind enough to go out of his way to look for my order and bring it out from the back. Whereever you are, I hope you got laid that night.
I met up with Miyouko, one of my gogo dancers, and we had a snack and snapped some promo shots of the bracelets (check em out below!)
Then I delivered some flyers to DJ Thundermonkey, then some to Sullivenom, and finished off with a delivery to Martin, whose mom's breast cancer just relapsed (this event is for you, man). Unfortunately, Regina (my little sister) was kept waiting on her birthday (which was yesterday) and I still feel bad about making her wait so long. I'll figure out a way to make it up to her. I will.
These bracelets are pretty kickass. They came just as I imagined them, and whoever's lucky enough to snag one the night of Club for a Cure (C4aC) will be really happy they did. I've got a limited run, after all, and I expect these to go fast.

These last few weeks have been insanely packed and insanely fun.
I'm proud to say that the event I first wrote about last month is now up and running, and I'm extremely pleased with the progress I've made. I can honestly say that ever since I started Club for a Cure, I've met more quality people in two weeks than I've met in the last two months. It's been an amazing journey and I have to thank a few people for the courage, inspiration, wisdom, and faith they've instilled in me to make this all possible:
Bradtastic, Sullivenom, Yen, Linh, Hung, Miyouko, Kathlene, Vivian, Cherylee, Julio, Dad (for once!), and finally, Mike of the Mist Ultra Lounge in SF, where the event will take place.

It all started off easily enough. Pulled up four chairs and told whoever wanted to experience hypnosis to take a seat and get comfortable. Long story short:

I've been journaling in my moleskines for the last few days, but I think it's high time I wrote a public update as to the going-ons of my life.
As of today, www.MagicbyAndrew.com has gone down and been replaced by a placeholder for www.GiveMeAndy.com in preparation for the full Andrew-to-aNDy rerelease.
Over the last few days, a few more elements regarding my benefit event/birthday party have been finalized and steps are being taken to-get this thing off the ground. A venue has at last been found-- Mike of MistSF (formerly Loft11) has graciously agreed to host the event, and a few wrinkles are being ironed out, of which I'll know about in a few hours. Also, confirmed another gogo dancer, bringing me up to my goal of four dancers for the evening!
